Update: Tigers clinging to first place

The 1967 Tigers are clinging to first place in a crowded AL pennant race.

Detroit is 73-56 after winning two of three in Kansas City. The Minnesota Twins are in second place, just a half-game behind at 72-56. The Boston Red Sox are third (72-58, 1.5 GB) and the Chicago White Sox are fourth (70-58, 2.5 GB).

Tonight the Tigers open a four-game set in Anaheim against the California Angels. The teams will play single games Monday and Wednesday with a doubleheader sandwiched on Tuesday.

Stats are only updated through 106 games so it will be a while before they are updated on the blog.
